It’s October 20, or International Sloth Day, which I guess means we all get to be lazy and apathetic (checks notes)—oh, um, scratch that. Not that kind of sloth. Today is about the animals known as sloths! Yes, that makes more sense. Sloths are fascinating if often misunderstood creatures, and since 2010, a nonprofit conservation organization called AINAU has been promoting International Sloth Day to raise awareness about sloths, and in particular the harm humans can cause them. (Pro tip #1: Do not keep a sloth as a pet!) It’s also a day to slow down a bit, be more deliberate, and try to experience a less chaotic way of life.
