Pizza is one of the most universally loved foods—if you’re planning a party and you want to get something almost anyone will eat (even kids), pizza is a pretty good choice. (Or, at least, there’s some variety of pizza that will please just about anybody.) And, as pizzas go, the default variety—the “cheese pizza” (also known as a “plain” pizza) is the one least likely to offend. But, to be candid, cheese pizza does offend me, because it’s boring. If you’re buying pizza for yourself and you order it with just cheese, I have to wonder how it could be that you dislike every possible topping choice (whether vegetable, fruit, fungus, or meat). I mean, come on, live a little! I promise you won’t get in trouble for doing that, even on National Cheese Pizza Day.
