Apparently there are some human beings who are literate and yet do not consider themselves book lovers. I worry deeply about such people. Yes, I’m aware there are other modalities of learning and entertainment, but seriously, books are where it’s at. I don’t know if I could be friends with someone who doesn’t like to immerse themselves in a good book on a regular occasion. And I say this not just as the author of more than 60 books myself, and not just as a publisher—my love of books long preceded my professional involvement with them. If you are a book lover, August 9 is just for you. Spend the day in a library or bookstore. Buy a few new books. (Yes, ebooks count, as do audiobooks!) Or simply fill up your bathtub with paperbacks and roll around in them for a while—that’s your business, I don’t judge. If you’re not a book lover, it’s never too late to get help. Where can you get help? Take a look…it’s in a book.
And if you’re looking for ebooks to help you cope with technology, well, I can make quite a few suggestions. Enjoy!
